Intern at our STARR Program

STARR is a short-term, co-ed residential stabilization, assessment, and rapid reunification program serving adolescents and families referred by the Department of Children and Families.  Service recipients can remain in placement up to 45 days with the goal of returning to the community with therapeutic supports in place.

Some of the learning and growth opportunities that an intern in the STARR program would experience are:

  • Participation in group and individual therapy.
  • Perform intakes.
  • Administration of individual and family assessments.
  • Clinical documentation.
  • Participation in the milieu.

Qualifications (Education and Experience):
  • Interns should have an interest in – and sensitivity toward - the population that this program serves.  Community Care Services requires a Criminal Offender Record Investigation (CORI) which may take 2 weeks for some programs. Other requirements include Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training, as well as tuberculosis screening at some programs. We will arrange for completion of all your requirements.
