Ed Consultation Administrative Assistant Intern Position
Community Care Services’ Educational Consultation Program helps parents and schools work together to develop quality education for students of all ages. We can work with schools to aid them in increasing their capacity to serve all students by offering consultation in program development to principals and program directors and by creating and implementing staff development programs.
We believe in the potential of youth at risk; and know that academic success is key to their employability, self-sufficiency and productivity as citizens. We have offered education consultation services for nearly 30 years. Our educational consultation, advocacy and mediation services provided assistance to over 300 students and families in fiscal year 2008.
Some of the educational opportunities and responsibilities that an intern in our Education Consultation Administrative Assistant position would experience are:
- Organize and maintain files
- Help to develop marketing materials
- Prepare quarterly reports
- Search for grant opportunities
- Help to prepare grant applications
- Organize data collection efforts
- Develop mechanisms for analyzing and reporting data
- Support staff by facilitating routine office functions (mail, time sheets, routine correspondence)
- Develop program specific mailing lists
This position is a wonderful opportunity to get a broad range of knowledge about programs in the social service, behavioral health, and child welfare industry, and to learn about regulatory and best practice service and treatment models available. Experience in computer skills is required, including proficiency in Word and Excel. Candidates pursuing degrees in business, management, human resources and administrative assistant technical skills are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications (Education and Experience):
- Interns should have an interest in – and sensitivity toward - the population that this program serves. Community Care Services requires a Criminal Offender Record Investigation (CORI) which may take 2 weeks for some programs. Other requirements include Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training, as well as tuberculosis screening at some programs. We will arrange for completion of all your requirements.
Education Consultation is a program of Community Care Services which is a large, nonprofit human services agency with over thirty very diverse programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
