Volunteer for Grant Writing and Performance Quality Improvement (PQI)


Our grant writers research and write grants to provide necessary funding for the thirty diverse programs of Community Care Services.  These programs are located in Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Dress appropriately and be punctual.
  • Notify your supervisor if you are unable to keep your schedule.
  • Keep a record of your service hours on the posted form at PQI.

Specific Responsibilities:
You can choose to participate in a variety of activities (if applicable to your skills and interests).

  • Assist with researching information for grants, proposals, etc.
  • Assist with assembling and filing grant applications
  • Moving and organizing the previous grants
  • Obtaining demographics for our regions (Cape, Attleboro- Taunton, New Bedford – Plymouth, and other areas we may pursue)
  • Research best practices for populations we serve
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Other Related Responsibilities:
All long-term volunteers (performing a total of more than 20 hours of service) at Community Care Services complete an intake and orientation that includes Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) clearance, reference check, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training, information on Community Care Services’ mission, as well as our Grant Writing program’s place in that mission, including its philosophy, goals and general policies.  The OSHA training is repeated annually.  Volunteers are encouraged to attend additional training, including First Aid and CPR, This training is our gift to you.

 

Qualifications (Education and Experience):

  • There are no education requirements for volunteers.   Attention to detail is required.  Computer experience, including Word and Excel is very helpful.
  • Ability to promote a caring and respectful attitude toward clients, staff and other volunteers, respecting privacy and confidentiality.
