Potential Placement Sites for Interns

Community Care Services is a private, non-profit corporation that provides emotional, educational and behavioral support to more than 10,000 children, adults, elders and families annually throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  Our mission is to provide the highest quality counseling, prevention, behavioral health, education, mediation, advocacy, community living and elderly services to all of our clients in a safe and caring environment in order to maximize the potential in all of us. Community Care Services, a member of the United Way, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2002.

Because of the 49 diverse programs within Community Care Services, we have supervised interns from a variety of majors, including social work, psychology, education, counseling, nursing, public relations and computer science.

Interns may access our website, www.communitycareservices.org to read more about Community Care Services.  You may call the programs directly for further information, a tour and/or application paperwork.  Application paperwork is also available through Joan Keiper, Director of Volunteer Services, Community Care Services, 508-821-7777, ext. 451 or e-mail jkeiper@communitycareservices.org.  In this correspondence, please use the subject of “Internship.”

Community Care Services requires a Criminal Offender Record Investigation (CORI), which may take one week for some programs.  Other requirements include Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training and tuberculosis screening at some programs.  We will arrange for completion of all your requirements.
