Volunteer Opportunities

Over the past year, over 160 volunteers helped Community Care Services in our caring work.  They read to children in a homeless shelter, mentored teens, provided clerical help, repaired and painted our buildings, facilitated workshops, interpreted, assisted frail elders and worked in a thrift store.  Our volunteers generously contributed over 11,700 hours last year, helping people in their own community improve the quality of their lives.

There are a variety of opportunities available, in one-time or ongoing community service.  We have listed some of these opportunities; but we are always interested in your own ideas of how you can help.

If a program interests you, please call the contact listed to arrange for an informational tour.  If you decide to volunteer, the program will provide the application paperwork.  Some intake steps are Criminal Offender Record Investigation (CORI) clearance, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training and, at some sites, tuberculosis screening.  We will arrange for completion of all requirements.

Please don’t delay in calling us.  We need your assistance; and our volunteers find that they find satisfaction in sharing their time and talents, meeting new friends and expanding their interests and skills.  We look forward to hearing from you!
